Gentlemen! =)

Me and my buddies played CO about half a year ago, and we stopped due to power-unbalance and related issues (martial arts was useless).

Look at the site recently and was pretty amazed by the amount of content update, so naturally we decided to give it another go.

However as there have been so many changes, they aren't registering all that well.
Any kind folk mind providing me with a general run-down of what the heck happened for the last 6 months for powers? Much appreciated!

Welcome back!
Good news is that all melee powers got buffed a lot and there is even a new role - Brawler - for melee dps.:p
Most of melee dps skills have no cooldown. Passive buffs becomes toggle ones and only able to use one at a time.Brawler role gives any of melee attacks snare effect so that people dont get away easily like before. However, it also debuffed your range dmg badly.
Bad news (i dont know i should say it bad or good :o) is that there is a new issue of un-balance power. Might/Brick is overpowered now. People can just use 2 buttons to play, 1st is upper cut, 2nd is haymaker or even worse they are just spamming upper cut and everything down (range and other melee powers) :mad:Hope they will work on this issue soon.
Again welcome back to the game. :D

Wow thanks! That sounds great, can't wait to bust that free retcon and try it all over again.

Oh I'm also wondering, is there any new area's to level up? Since theres been so many events, are they still accessable?

There's a LOT that's changed, but utuwer gave you good idea of how much better melee is to play.

As far as new content, there are new missions here and there, but specifically there is two new major content releases

The first is Vibora Bay, a new zone for levels 34+ (content is 37-40), which requires you go through a new, and very epic crisis to unlock. I highly recommend it if you are able to access it.

The second is the very first Adventure Pack, Serpent's Lantern. This is a multi-instance, long story-arc that scales to team size, and offers a wide variety of rewards for completion. It is open to all characters level 11+

Both of these major content updates are free. Also, Blood Moon is supposed to shortly be available every Full Moon (in real life), so every 3-4 weeks Takofanes will invade Millenium City, and you can get all the perks and drops associated with it.

I'm in the same boat as you so its nice to see what has changed in a quick rundown. I played at launch for a couple of months and then quit due to bugs and lack of content and power balance. Have there been any changes to travel powers like does burrow still stop you if you have hit the slightest bump or curb. And can you still take insane falling damage from super jump? I could probably look up backlogged patch notes and find out for myself but I feel as though that would take a lot longer. Thanks for the info everyone =)

Thanks for the info, I'll look up how to access those contents right away.

Tunneling and Superjump do still have those issues, I'm afraid. Usually it's not a big deal, however.

There have been a lot of power changes, and ChampionBuilder is not really up-to-date. If you guys need help retconning, rebuilding, or rerolling, feel free to send me a PM with the details of your character and I can help you build something that synergizes well, and takes advantage of all the new options available.
